How to manage businesses with multiple locations

business locations
If you have never assessed the need for business process management systems in your company, now is the right time to think about it. Such systems play a significant role in maximizing the performance of any company, both small and large. Successful implementation of management systems requires an understanding of process management software, the selection of appropriate departments and subdivisions for their implementation, and the creation of a plan for their implementation.

What is the core of business management systems?

Business process management systems allow companies to expand. For example, if you are planning to expand a company and open new departments in several places districts, states or internationally, you are unlikely to succeed without management systems. Process management systems such as accounting, payroll, purchasing, pricing, discounts, hiring, production, mailing, delivery of goods, etc. - occupy an important place in the success of any company. But before uploading appropriate process control systems in your company, first start by assessing which processes systems your company need and which manual processes can potentially be automated.

Automation of business processes

In the conditions of constantly developing technologies, today, more than ever, it has become easier to automate business processes. Automation creates a business platform that offers entrepreneurs and directors the ability to manage a company using current data. For example, in order to advertise a product or service, you can use automatic systems for sending electronic messages.

What processes require automation?

You can consider automating of several processes, including:

- Salary calculations;
- Purchase of inventory;
- Accounting;
- Processing of applications for consumer loans;
- Processing of receivable invoices and accounts;
- Pricing;
- The process of selection, recruitment, and maintenance of labor discipline;
- Operational procedures;
- The process of sales and customer service.

Here are some great tools to automate your business:

10 Interesting Facts About the Great Australian Gold Rush

raw golds
When we consider the rich history of Australia, the subject remains incomplete without the mention of the gold rushes that took the country by storm in the nineteenth century. The people who worked and lived on the gold fields – commonly known as the “diggers” – hold a special place in the national folklore that we Aussies are immensely proud of.

Gold trade has always been popular in the country. However, when people buy or sell gold from and to a Melbourne gold bullion dealer, they don’t really make an effort to find out how the gold got there. From the initial discovery of gold that triggered a gold frenzy across the nation to the availability of gold bullions at dealership stores across the country, there are several facts that should be known by all of us.

1. The first official discovery of gold in Australia was made by Edward Hargraves in 1851. There were other discoveries made before that, but none of them won the approval of the Governor of New South Wales.

2. The discovery by Hargraves was made in a waterhole near Bathhurst, which was later named Ophir by Hargraves himself. During the hunt, he was accompanied by three other men – William Tom, James Tom, and John Lister – who decided to surrender the reward for discovery in full to Hargraves.

3. The gold discoveries made before Hargraves were rejected by Governor Gipps owing to the fear of having gold mines dominated by convicts who would rush to them as soon as they heard about it. This could have led to serious chaos in the country.

4. The first ever discovery of gold in Australia was back in 1823. Then again, geologist William Clarke discovered particles of gold in Blue Mountains in 1840.

5. In 1869, diggers Richard Oates and John Deason unearthed the Welcome Stranger – a gold nugget that weighed 2268 ounces – the largest ever found!

6. The Welcome Stranger was extracted from Moliagul. This place is famous for all the large gold nuggets found here. It is located close to Dunolly.

7. Back then, Bendigo and Ballarat were the most productive gold fields, attracting most of the crowd. Even today, they are renowned worldwide for the gold they produce. These fields were rich, but never produced nuggets as big as those found in Moliagul. People still try their luck at digging there in an attempt to make a fortune.

8. William Campbell was the first person to find gold in Clunes, Victoria. However, he waited to claim his findings till a reward was set for it. Campbell was awarded 200 pounds in 1851 once his discovery was confirmed.

9. Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie qualify as the two largest goldmines of Australia. Located closed to each other, these sites produced more gold than any other site in the country.

10. Most of Australia’s gold yield is concentrated in Western Australia, with the region contributing almost 70% of the total gold yield of the country.

Maximizing Profitability In A “Bull” Market For Construction

interms of profit
The Bulls And The Bears

Bulls are always bucking their heads “upward”, while bears slash “downward” with their razor-sharp, heavy claws. A “bear” market is bad, but a “bull” market is good—even though getting stuck in the pathway of either animal rampaging through a city in reality would likely be disastrous. Thankfully, these animals are only analogous descriptions of the American stock market.

Today, a “bull” market has characterized forward egress for many months. The economy has become positive. Positive economies can pose difficult questions for business owners. Sometimes the run of a political administration can suck the energy out of an economy, and by the time it’s “good” again, business owners are looking to sell their old business and be rid of it. But sometimes persevering is a better choice. Many in the U.S. are at just such a crossroad.

It’s a good time for the construction industry in the America of today. The economy is at record highs, and new buildings are going to be put up across the country, and as a collateral result, the world. How long this boom will last is anybody’s guess, but signs are indicating continued positive development.

Whether your business has suffered in recent years, or it’s doing very well, it makes sense to exploit this situation as best you can. First things first: you want to establish operational practices which will perpetually yield positive results. Source employees who are skilled and have a history of employment that is solid, and isn’t filled with short stints where they were either fired or quit.

Equipment Considerations

Next, you want to look at your equipment. The idea with purchasing equipment is to get the most for your money. Again, basic economics come into the picture: you want to buy low and sell high. The key is to get the best equipment at the best price and keep it running as long as you possibly can. At the bare minimum, you want to get your investment back.

This means if you spent $10k on a grader, dozer, or other piece of equipment, you need to get at least $10k worth of use out of it before you sell it or retire it. Calculating such use requires factoring out the cost of paying whichever employee runs the equipment, gasoline, or collateral repair expenses that may result from accident or misuse.

Sometimes buying cheaper will cost you more money because productive time will be lost in repairs. Also, sometimes getting a deal on an after-market “premiere” piece of equipment can underhandedly slap your finances when you discover said equipment isn’t conventionally served in your area. Americans come up against this problem with Volkswagens all the time.

Purchasing From The Right Sellers

Finally, you want to get the right kind of equipment—the operative word here is “versatile”. Consider the skid steer loader, as an example. Skid steer loaders can be put to a variety of use; according to www.mylittlesalesman.com/find/skid-steer-loaders-i1c29f0m0, “Skid steer loaders are speedy, versatile machines with a rigid frame and dual lifting arms that can be outfitted to perform a wide variety of landscaping, agriculture, and construction tasks.”

The right sellers will offer such equipment at affordable rates. Additionally, you should expect variety in purchasing choice, and read all the fine print surrounding machines being sold. While generally buying too cheaply represents a cumulative loss, there is an event horizon where that changes.

If you only get one day out of a $500 piece of equipment, and do $1,000 worth of work, then you’ve doubled your investment. Today’s market is conducive to growth, so consider your options and buy well. If you’re careful enough, you’re likely to see the kind of positive forward growth you may have missed in previous years of un-bear-able markets.

You Can't Possibly Afford A Video Game Care In Real Life... Or Can You?

money for cars
This year saw the return of the Gran Turismo game series after a long, four year hiatus. Now, if you are anything like us, then your love of cars probably comes from the deep-rooted obsession you had with the first Gran Turismo game, which came out way back when the PlayStation One was fresh on the shelves. Sure, the graphics weren’t great and the unavoidable scratches made certain tracks unplayable, but that is irrelevant; this was a game that was more realistic than looking out of your bedroom.

That’s what makes this franchise so special. It’s the fact there are over a thousand real-life and licensed cars to be enjoyed. It offers the Average Joe and Johanna the chance to test drive the latest from Lamborghini and Bugatti, as well as some of the hybrid supers that have been made by the Mercedes SLS team. Essentially, Gran Turismo is your chance to leap into the cockpit of every dream car that is impossibly out of reach for almost everyone because they cost more than your kidney, lungs and brain re worth on the Black Market.

However, they aren’t all out of reach. That’s right, there is a slew of cars that offer plenty of fun that are - possibly - within the grasp of your budget when you know how to finance them, and they’re the ones we are going to focus on. So, without further ado, head onto Google, buy a slogan t-shirt that reads “I can afford a car that’s in Gran Turismo” and then pull up outside your mates house because these cars are packed full of vroom-vroom.

Subaru WRX

The Mitsubishi Evo or Subaru Impreza was a decision that divided friendships quicker than the Marmite argument but, in reality, there is no competition. The Subaru WRX just casts a spell over all those that catch a glimpse of it. It is a car that stirs up something deep inside of us, and the latest release - the fourth generation - will blow your socks off. It has taken its twenty-year pedigree and showed us what we have always loved about it. The turbocharged engine, that infamous silhouette and the handling that made this car a world rally champion so many times. However, what makes the latest release so special is the modern touches. It’s the highly sophisticated infotainment system, the luxury comforts, breathtakingly stylish cockpit and the state of the art tech. Here is the real kicker, though, there are Subaru finance schemes available to make your dream a reality. This car used to be for those that wanted to leave other cars choking on dust. But now, this car is for those that want to leave other cars in the dust while enjoying the comforts of a car that can be driven every day.

Mazda RX-7

Now this car may have stopped coming off the production line fifteen years ago, but it remains a hero that is still worth getting your hands on. It isn’t just the fact this car was a drifting-superstar in the game, it is the fact it is a crisp, clean and simple car that manages to turn heads no matter where it is driven. That shape is about as iconic as a Christmas tree, with the pop-up lights and smallish wheels only adding to its allure. In terms of which model you should get your hands on, the third generation is by far our favourite; the FD. Twin-turbocharged engine with a twin-rotor powertrain this thing packed a punch, even if it is just a 1.3L. It did 0-62 in five seconds flat and hit highs of 156 mph. That is staggering. Sure there are flaws, like the non-adjustable steering wheel and the fact it lacks a little headroom, but by using these classic car loan tips, you’ll find out this is still a glorious car that will make you smile from ear to ear.

Chrysler 300C

The statement this car made was something special, and it still has that in its arsenal. It is the chance to feel like a Mafia Don as you ride around town. Yes, this statement costs a premium. However, you get plenty of other things for your money too, starting with the performance, running through the luxury and ending at the ambience. Rear-wheel drive automatics have fallen out of favour in recent years, but the 500C is proof of what is possible. The obvious flaw - as anyone who has ever stepped inside or seen one of these up close will attest - is the build quality. Our favourite shape is the 2005 to 2011, but we can’t deny our love for the new models - especially the 2017 edition. This is our favourite to own and buying second hand is our top tip when it comes to affording one. The reason it is our fave is simple: it is still unapologetically bold, but it is also super well-equipped with modern tech, as comfortable as anything else out there and surprisingly quiet too. It is practical and it boasts a V8 option; now that is cool.

Subaru Legacy

Yeah, our first port of call has competition from within its own ranks because the Subaru Legacy is another option that cannot be ignored. It may not have the yeehaw appeal of the WRX, but it certainly a great option for a family that has to live with the muck and yuck of everyday life. What makes the 2017 model so delightful is the added style it has been given. Yes, it has been given a sporty trim both on the outside and in. The result: it deserves a second glance when you are window shopping, maybe even a third glance. What really sets this apart from its competitors, however, is its all-weather driving capabilities. Some of you are probably reading this from a geographical location where the weather is a big factor in life and having a car to meet those demands is crucial. Oh, and it has a much better fuel efficiency rating than its competitors. Now we know that is a wholly un-Gran-Turismo thing to say but, in real life, that is an important factor (probably more important than how well it drifts).

And there we have it, three manufacturers and four cars that are well worth considering in real life the next time you are thinking about an upgrade. Come on, just imagine how happy the kid inside you will be if you get to see one of these sat on your driveway each morning.

Play By Your Own Rules, Not Anybody Else’s

daily money matters
When it comes to your personal finance, one of the biggest mistakes you can make is making decisions based on other people’s rules, not your own. You can’t go through life trying to follow what everyone is doing. If you assume control of your life, you’ll have a happier and more fulfilling life, and it’ll also make a big difference to your financial situation. Below, we take a look at a few ways you can begin to rethink your approach to the big matters.

Make Your Job Work For You

The world is kinda odd when you stop to think about it. People are being asked to work more extended hours than ever before, usually, in jobs they don’t enjoy, to get money for things they don’t really want to buy. Instead of assuming that you need to have 40+ hours a week, career-track job, why not think about how you really want to spend your time? If you trim your needs down to the essentials, then you may be able to work for only twenty hours a week, which would free up a lot of time for you to pursue your other interests.

New Housing Thinking

Like your job, it’s also worth rethinking about the kind of place you want to live. Everybody is after that big home with five bedrooms, but why? Larger homes are more difficult to manage and much more expensive. We strive to own one because we think we should, not because we really want to. There are other, better, more affordable options available. Take a look at mobile homes for sale, and you’ll see that the prices are much more attractive, and you won’t lose any of the comforts of a regular home, either. It’s about finding the accommodation that works for you and your budget.

Homestead Gardening

You have three necessities in life: shelter, water, and food. The latter is where much of our weekly budget goes. We think that it’s inevitable that we must go to the supermarket and pay other people to give us food. In reality, we can more in control of our food than we think we can. It’s never been easier to grow - and then eat - your own food. Take a look at how to grow vegetables and start eating food you’ve produced yourself!

Goodbye to the Joneses’

It’s important to keep in mind what motivates you. If it’s coming from somewhere inside of you, then that’s worth pursuing. If you’re doing something because you want to match your neighbors, friends, or family, then that’s not worth pursuing. You’ll save yourself a lot of money and stress if you don’t worry about keeping up with other people!

Thinking Outside The Box

Ultimately, living is about doing what you want to do. Get creative, think about what is possible, and then do that. Living any other way will only bring you problems. Once you’ve established your own rules, you’ll be in greater command of your finances and overall happiness.

How to Get Your Entrepreneurial Venture off the Ground

business money
Beginning a new business is a wondrous experience. It’s a jump into the unknown, and a chance for you to forge your own destiny and chart your own course through life.

That being said, anyone can tell you that it’s no easy process, either. Many things can and will go wrong, and seemingly golden ideas will at times have to be abandoned down the line and replaced by new ventures altogether.

There are, however, various things that can be done to ensure that your entrepreneurial venture has the best possible chance of getting off the ground.

Consider your most profitable areas of focus

In any business venture, no matter the industry or area of focus, you will find that there is a literally unlimited number of tasks that you could be spending your time on at any given moment.

There will be thousands of books, articles, webinars and courses available, all promising to give you the secret keys to making it in your industry, and each will include dozens of pieces of often disparate, or even conflicting, advice.

One of the most important skills you’ll need to acquire as an entrepreneur is to discern which are your most profitable areas of focus, and to dedicate your time to those. Is your time best spent researching MT4 and MT5 white label suppliers, or conducting an email campaign to reach out to prospects?

Focusing on a few core strategies is always a better tactic than trying to juggle hundreds at once.

Spend money where it’s needed

As the saying goes, “you have to spend money to make money”. While different entrepreneurial ventures will entail different entry costs, you should be aware that it’s all but inevitable that you’ll need to invest some money into getting off the ground.

The key is to know where that money should be spent. Certain things like web design and professional headshots, while not strictly things you have to pay for, are essential to your professional credibility and are well worth investing in, to have done properly.

Understand what these key areas are where money will need to be spent, and budget accordingly.

Avoid the temptation to spend money on frivolous activities

As the other side of the coin to the previous point, there is always the temptation for new business owners to try and throw money at their problems to make them go away as quickly as possible. Often, this results in wasted and unnecessary spending.

The fact is that a business will require a certain amount of straight-forward hard work and time, and there will always be situations where throwing money at a problem seems tempting, but will ultimately prove fruitless.

If your product is poor, you’ll need to spend time refining it, talking to focus groups, refining it again, and so on. In this case, trying to compensate for your poor sales by investigating massive amounts of money into PPC ad campaign will be utterly pointless and counterproductive.

Practice the skill of determining where a certain problem will take time, work, or a different approach, and consult with trusted people in your professional circle to share their opinions.

Resist the quick-fix temptation of trying to solve complex issues by throwing money at them.

5 Money Wasters Businesses Need To Avoid

waste of money
Getting a business loan to manage cash and trade flows approved by a bank or lender can be a long and arduous process. There is often a long list of documents that you need to collect, compile and submit along with your application. Receiving an approval is a joyous day for any entrepreneur, regardless of the approved loan amount.

You can make the most out of your hard-earned loan by avoiding the following money wasters.

1. Bad advertising

Regardless of the type of advertising you opt for (i.e., print, TV, radio, online), you need to make sure that your brand’s message reaches your target market. Between traditional marketing methods and online advertising, the latter may be simpler and cheaper to implement, but it is still not free. Simply running an ad requires time, effort and money.

Do your research on which publishers target your audience and learn how to run an effective online marketing campaign. Experiment with different publishers and designs. Don’t commit to any long-term contracts.

2. Large office spaces

New entrepreneurs (and even the most educated businessmen) fall into the trap of going big when first establishing their businesses. They pay excessive amounts of money to buy a building, rent a space, purchase new furnishings, equipment, signage and other space improvements. Startup companies often have limited budgets.

There is a lot to learn and not a lot of assurances as to how successful your business will turn out. Limit any unnecessary expenses.

Be scrappy. Instead of wasting your capital on a posh place and furniture, find a basic space where you can setup your business, make plans and execute your ideas. You can turn a part of your home into an office. If you do decide to rent an office space, you can save by looking for used furniture or equipment. You can find items from businesses that closed down on sites such as Craigslist. Check out garage sales if you can.

3. Wrong mobile plan

Entrepreneurs who are just starting out with their businesses don’t need an unlimited data plan. According to a study by Consumer Reports, almost half of unlimited data plan subscribers use no more than 300MB of data a month. What you can do instead is to look for the right plan that matches your normal usage. The same goes for calls and SMS messages. Telephone bills can also be reduced by using voice over IP solution.

4. No follow up

Small businesses and startups spend a lot of resources in advertising their brand, products and services to generate leads. However, all that work and effort can be for naught if there is no established follow up procedure.

Do not forget about your leads after the initial contact. At times, leads do not automatically become buyers. Constant contact and communication is needed to keep your brand in their mind and convert potential leads to sales. Devise a plan on how to track each lead. You may need to invest in a customer relationship management system to connect with your leads on a regular basis.

5. Expensive website design

Your business needs a website to tap the online market but you don’t need to spend all of your capital to get one. A lot of entrepreneurs make the mistake of investing too much on logos and branding when they first establish their businesses.

Start with a template if you have a limited budget. Use WordPress if you need to set up a blog. Focus your attention on finding ways to produce content, market your brand, follow up on leads and monitor your site’s data without making a massive hole in your budget.

You have worked hard on getting the capital needed to put up your business. Whether it is a bank loan, your savings or donations from family and friends, it takes time to raise money. Do not waste it on superficial aspects. Think carefully on where you plan to put your resources so you can make your business grow without the risk of going to the poorhouse while you are at it.

Using Social Media To Boost Your Finance Career

social finance
Working in the financial industry is a tough business. The various recent financial crises have led to a cultural shift where people tend to move from firm to firm rather than staying anywhere long term. It’s also meant that the job market is more competitive, meaning you need to stand out to stand the best chance of landing a job. Social media is a fantastic place to network within the finance industry, and using it to your advantage could boost your career. Take a look at the following tips on how to use social media to your professional advantage.

Get yourself a LinkedIn account

LinkedIn is the most popular social media platform for professional networking. Unlike Facebook or Twitter, LinkedIn is a platform that is specifically targeted at businesses and job seekers and can be a great way to find out more about the industry you work in, and help others to find out about you. If you’re unsure about how to use LinkedIn to your advantage, it’s worth reading up on how to make the most of your LinkedIn profile to make sure you get out of it what you can. You could even contribute articles to LinkedIn to help demonstrate your interest and expertise in finance.

Join the conversation on Twitter

While Twitter is a microblogging platform, it is a great place for sharing news and debate and is a popular way to find out about jobs too. Rather than simply using Twitter to talk about what you thought of last night’s Game of Thrones, use it to talk about your professional interests. Follow influencers in your field and connect with them - it’s a great way to get your name out there and to make some contacts.

Show off your interests and hobbies

Most people will include details of interests and hobbies on their resumes, but how can you demonstrate that? Social media is a great way to indulge in your passions and to share them with others, so sharing details of your different social media profiles could be vital for people wanting to find out more about the real you, rather than what they see on paper. He might be an analyst, but Chris Pivik is also a keen photographer, who shares his hobby through Flickr. Being able to link to your profiles to show off your interests and expertise is a great idea for helping employers to notice you, and could be what you need to get an edge over others.

Write a blog

Blogs are a fantastic way to show off your knowledge and experience, things that are important if you want to land a dream job in finance. Writing a blog about something you know well such as investments, money-saving tips or personal finance shows that you genuinely have an interest in the industry, and could connect you to people in ways you didn’t think possible. Getting started with blogging is simple and doesn’t have to cost you anything so you could get started today and start getting your name out there.

Social media can also help you out if you’re planning to start your own business, especially if you’re finding the job market tough. As well as being a place for networking, social media is an effective marketing tool - one you can use to advantage if you know how to use it right. Take some time to think about your online presence and whether or not you could use it to boost your financial career.

A Guide To Earning More From Your Day Job

earning more
As much as you may love your job, the simple fact remains that you go to work to earn money. If money was of no concern, you would probably walk away from your job without a backward glance, delighting at the opportunity to spend more time with your family. A job can be enjoyable, but at the end of the day, it’s the paycheck you receive that really matters.

There are times in life where you may find yourself receiving that paycheck and realizing that it isn’t enough. It doesn’t cover your expenses adequately; it doesn’t give you enough disposable income to enjoy. This might be a temporary situation or something you have been suffering through for awhile, but the facts are the same: you need to earn more than you are currently.

So what can be done about it? For many people, the answer comes in the form of supplemental income; little top-up jobs you can do in your spare time to ensure your financial coffers are never fully bare. While this step can be successful, wouldn’t it be better to just make more from the job you already do, rather than adding to your workload?

Before you launch yourself into the world of supplemental income, it’s worth examining the points below and seeing if any of them appeal. By increasing the amount you earn from your day job, you can keep your spare time for those precious family moments you’re not going to want to miss out on.

Option One: Ask For A Raise

Sometimes, the direct route is the most effective: just outright ask your boss for a raise.

Obviously, this tends to require a little more tact than just walking into their office and making a demand. It’s often best if you ask for a raise during a performance appraisal. If you don’t receive regular performance appraisals, then you’re well within your rights to ask for one. Explain that you would like to go over some details and would appreciate it if they could arrange for a one-to-one meeting to discuss your performance. No boss worth their salt is going to turn such a request down.

Within such an arrangement, the conversation should naturally lead to a point where you can discuss your wage. Point out the rises in the cost of living, explaining that though you love the job and are committed to it, you’re struggling to make ends meet. Be honest; it should lead your boss to be more understanding of your situation, and hopefully you can come to an arrangement that suits you both.

Option Two: Increasing Your Earning Potential Through Education

There may be a time in your career when you have gone as far as you can on your existing qualifications. If you’re not satisfied with the wage that you’re earning, then it can be difficult to know how to move into a better role without furthering your learning.

The answer is adult education, ideally offering you more experience and qualifications to progress in the same industry you are already working in. Most roles offer an opportunity for progress. Nurses can up their qualifications by undertaking an online RN to BSN degree program that increases the work they will be able to do, and thus the chances for progression. If you work in customer service, you can specialize in conflict resolution. Even if you’re an office admin in an entry-level position, you could always think about undertaking an HR qualification and moving into another field of admin. There is always a way you can progress that is related to the experience that you already have.

Option Three: Apply For New Jobs

There’s no doubt that undertaking a job hunt can be a worrying time. You’ll have to deal with the requirement to prove yourself all over again. You’ll have to go through an application process, then with the interview and all the stress that can involve.

However, if you truly want to make more money and there’s no prospect of that in your current role, then applying for new jobs might be your only choice. Bear in mind that any offer of new employment also gives you a stronger negotiating position within your existing job; you can say X company thinks you’re worth X, so is your existing company willing to match that? You just have to be sure that if your current work won’t match another offer, you’re willing to leave. Ultimately, you’ll be best off in a place where they see the worth of your talents anyway-- so you can’t really lose with this strategy.

Option Four: Change Your Career Goals

If you have reached the top of the tree in your existing industry and your paycheck is going to remain the same for years to come, then it might be best to consider expanding the scope of your career. Rather than remaining in the same industry, you can try to transfer your existing skills into something more lucrative.

If, for example, you have been working in admin and order processing, then the organizational skills you will have picked up might help you with a move into logistics. There are plenty of other skills that are transferable, potentially bringing you into a marketplace where the pay rate is higher. You will need to write an outstanding cover letter when you apply for roles in your new chosen field, outlining how your existing skills will transfer into a new environment. Most companies will appreciate your willingness to develop, and thus should be amenable to offering you a role that can capitalize on the skills you have already, while allowing you to learn more as you work with them. Entering a new sector can be a scary time, but if it’s going to increase your earning power, it’s definitely a risk worth taking.

In Conclusion

If the money you are currently earning is not sufficient, then you don’t just have to accept it and try to make do. There are options that can increase your earning potential, so don’t be afraid to take the leap into making the money you are truly worth.

Is It Time To Change Career? Probably

for money earning
We’ve all felt career apathy from time to time. You reach a point at which you’re no longer sure if you hate your job or you’re just exhausted. The two things can often be linked but it’s important that you know for sure before you go ahead and quit your job. Sometimes, it can just be a rough patch. If you’re starting to pull your hair out as you ask yourself whether it’s time to change career then the answer is probably “yes”. Nonetheless, here are some potential issues which often point to the need for a new career. You might want to see if any of them apply.

You don’t like the way the office works.

This point could be interpreted in many different ways, of course. The point is that many professionals go into an industry because they love the subject matter and they want to put their technical skills to good use but they end up falling out of love with it because of the nature of their work environment, other employees, and the boss. It’s important to make the distinction between whether your career is wrong for you or you’re simply working at the wrong company. If you decide that you just don’t approve of the way things are run at your company then this may be a sign that you still love your career but need a new employer.

Make sure that you take any necessary action if you’re leaving your job because of a specific incident. Incompetent colleagues need to be mentioned to the boss, but an incompetent boss is a trickier subject to broach. Perhaps you’ve seen fraudulent activity take place or you’ve been the victim in an unsafe workplace and the boss is turning a blind eye to it. You might want to look into a personal injury attorney to result in compensation if you have been hurt through someone else’s negligence whilst on the job. Even if you’re leaving your job to start a new one (whether that’s in the same line of work or not), you shouldn’t keep quiet if you think your old workplace has serious issues that could affect current or future employees.

The salary isn’t enough.

This is perhaps an even more serious reason to change career than the previous one. If you think that you’re not being paid enough for what you’re doing then, yet again, it may not be a sign that you should quit the industry in which you’re working altogether but it’s certainly a sign that you can’t carry on in your current job role unless something changes. Before you make any drastic decisions, however, you should try to resolve the situation with your employer. You might be surprised to find that you’re not met with resistance and your situation was simply overlooked. Perhaps you’ll be able to negotiate and get the salary you’re actually owed by the company.

It’s important to understand that we’re not just talking about feeling as if it’d be “nice” to earn more money. We’re talking about noticing that your wages need to increase in line with current inflation and it’s yet to happen. We’re talking about that bonus you were promised but were never paid. You need to attempt to get what you’re owed but, even then, it might be time to look into a different employer if you’re tired of going through the headache of trying to get the money you deserve for the work you do.

You have bigger and better talents.

A final reason as to why you might feel ready to change career is that you feel have you bigger and better talents that could be used for bigger and better things. You might feel as if you’re not using your creative mind in your current job role, for example. And as nice as a salary may be or as comfortable as a certain industry may be, none of that means anything if you’re feeling individually unfulfilled in your current job role. Ask yourself whether the thought of a promotion to a better position within the company (or any company in your industry) would be something to which you could aspire. If the answer is no then this line of career, in general, is probably wrong for you.

Start doing some research. You’ve likely built up talents through working at one or many firms over the years so that time hasn’t been wasted. Maybe your calling is to use those and other talents to build your own business. Perhaps you’d feel more fulfilled in selling your skill set to potential clients because there are certainly companies out there willing to pay freelancers with a professional talent. You just need to go searching for your new calling.

Supplemental Income: 4 Sources To Consider

another income
A supplemental income is a necessity for the majority of working people. It’s not an income that’s designed to replace the money you earn through your day job; it’s a top-up, a little bit extra, which can help to plug holes in your budget as well or give you a little extra fun spending money.

A supplemental income should be relatively easy to attain; there’s no point effectively needing to take on a second job for this purpose, it should be simpler than that. You need methods that don’t take much time or investment, but which can reward you with a financial cash boost when required.

Below are four different forms of supplemental income that you should consider. They’re not going to make you rich, but they could improve your life immeasurably.

#1 - Survey Sites

Survey sites are relatively simple. You sign up to a site, fill in a demographic profile, and then you answer questions from brands regarding your preferences. You will be rewarded with cash -- or points you can then convert into cash -- for your time. It’s not going to make you a fortune, but it can be a nice little side earner.

Top Tip: Always cash money out from survey sites as soon as you are able to. Sites can fold at any time and you don’t want them to do so when you have a high balance pending.

#2 - Sweepstakes

Sweepstakes are simple; you enter a competition, then you sit back and hope that you will win the grand prize. This prize might be money or goods; it depends on the sweepstakes that you enter. It’s easy to do and can be lucrative if you enter enough, so it’s worth giving this cash-generating method a go.

Top Tip: Have a read through the article Publishers Clearing House Review – Is it a Scam or Legit?; this will give you an idea of how a sweepstakes company should operate and whether it’s worth entering a draw with a company you find online.

#3 - Delivering Leaflets

Local businesses are the best source for leafleting. Contact businesses near you and ask if they are intending to distribute flyers at any point; this could be takeout menus, promotional ads, or just company announcements. It’s rarely regular work but it can be a nice side gig if you show you are reliable.

Top Tip: You will usually find it easier to walk or jog between streets rather than climbing in and out of a car, plus you’ll save money on gas -- ensuring a better profit from your efforts.

#4 - Selling To Friends and Family

There are a number of companies that operate on a direct-selling basis, where you host parties or sell to friends and family in a casual way. The great thing about direct selling is that there’s no cold calling; you use your existing contacts and see if the products you’re selling could be beneficial to them. You will get commission on any sales you make.

Top Tip: There are many direct selling opportunities you could consider. Before you agree to work with a company, think about who among your social circle you think you could sell the company’s items to -- you need to be sure of a consumer base from the moment you sign up.

With any combination of the above, you should find plenty of ways to add a little extra to your income, and improve your life one step at a time.

Is Your Career Looking After Your Bank Balance?

money at bank
Clearly, if you want to have a healthy bank balance you need to make sure you are getting the money in somehow. But this is not always easy to do, even if you have a full time job which appears to pay the bills. After all, once the bills are paid, what do you have left? If you are starting to think you could do with a little more in the way of funds, then it might be that your career is not quite giving you everything you need. In that case, you have a number of options available to you. Let’s take a look at some of the things you can do to help your bank balance along with the aid of your career options.

Getting What You Are Owed

First of all, you should look into your current situation with your employer and see if you are actually getting everything that you deserve. There is plenty that you are likely to be entitled to, and it is always worth making sure that you are actually getting it. This could mean a bonus that you are owed due to a high performance. It might be that your wages need to raise with inflation and it hasn’t happened yet. Or it might be specific to a situation. Perhaps you have suffered an injury and you can seek compensation through Strickland, Agner & Associates. Whatever the case, it is all about making sure you are receiving everything that is genuinely yours. This is a strong starting position regardless, so is an unavoidable step.

Thinking About A Change

It might be possible that you simply need to change up your career in order to suddenly receive a true bounty in your bank balance. But knowing where to find such work can indeed be very difficult to do. If you are thinking about changing careers, you want to make sure that you don’t just go for the money alone. It is just as important that you are able to enjoy the work, at the same time as getting paid well for it too. Both are important, so you should do whatever you can to try and find that healthy balance between the two. That way, it is much more likely that you will be happy with the overall situation.

Other Sources

Even with the ideal job for you, you might at times struggle financially. If you do start to struggle, you might want to think about what you can do to get money from other sources. You might be surprised at how easy this can actually be, especially if you are keen to put a little effort into it at the start. It has never been easier to create money out of seemingly nothing, and it is something that is worth looking into if you find yourself starting to struggle - or hopefully even before that. Do it right, and you might find that you can finally get that balance between money and life just right.

How to Recognize Quality Truck Financing Companies?

track your finances
Any company driver dreams of breaking free from their employer’s shackles and setting off on their own path of being an owner-operator. Not only is the pay better, you get to be your own boss, make your own rules and go wherever the road takes you.

That’s why you became a trucker in the first place, isn’t it?

Now is a perfect time to take this step. Why? Well, the truck driver shortage hasn’t gotten any better in the past couple of years. You can learn more about it here: http://gotruckcapital.com/funding/truck-financing/owner-operator/

And it’s bound to get worse!

There are only a few months left before the ELD mandate is finalized and all truckers are forced to switch to the electronic bookkeeping. This is bound to force older drivers into early retirement and make the shortage even worse while all that cargo just sits there waiting to get hauled.

But starting your own trucking business is not easy. Not many truckers are in a position to buy a truck up front. Most of them turn to financing companies for help. But big banks and huge financing corporations usually turn a blind eye to owner-operators, choosing to work only with established trucking companies. That’s where specialized truck financing companies like Go Capital come in.

They are only one of many companies offering financing or leasing services to truckers of all age, experience and credit score. But there are weeds even among them. To root out the good companies from bad, here are some of the most important traits to look for in a truck financing company.

Experience in the Field

Experience is everything in the trucking industry. Because of this big banks can never rival an experienced truck funding advisor in a small financing company. The staff at a quality truck financing company is skilled with finances and has a knowledge of how the trucking industry works. That means they can recommend the right insurance agencies, help you with rounding the paperwork and licenses up and give you advice on any other related matter. The only way a good agent can help you pick out the right truck is if they actually take the time to look into different types of trucks, equipment and trailers.

Size of the Company

A big bank can make you feel insignificant. If you ever visited a bank looking for a loan, you know what I’m talking about. Did you notice how the agent was anxiously waiting for their break while you poured your heart out talking about your dream of starting your own company? To a big bank, you are just a number. Another head in the queue. You can rest assured that you’ll never be treated like that in a genuine truck financing company.

Location

A company may offer great terms and trucks for lease, but that does not mean anything if you have to travel across several states to get to their office. Look for a company that has branches in your state, or at least offers an online consultation. This is important both for new businesses and established ones that may need to relocate to a different state.

Results

Friendly service and accessible offices are nothing if the company does not have results to back them up. When looking for a truck financing company, be sure to look their business up on the internet. Visit sites like Better Business Bureau, Yelp, go through blogs and forum or simply Google them. If they deliver results people are bound to share their success stories. If they don’t, people will be even more vocal about it. This eliminates the risk of signing a bad deal that could cost you your dream.

Four Fundamentals That Make Fiats The Fitting Choice

fiats to buy
Do you prefer a Fiat over a Ferrari? You must be mad! Ferraris are quick, powerful, and easy to the eye. Fiats, on the other hand, can’t hold a candle to the king of Italian automobiles. Or can they? A supercar is a great option, but it isn’t realistic. It is too expensive, not practical, and ostentatious. As a regular, run of the mill motor, supercars don’t compare. Yep, it’s hard to believe, but a Fiat has a lot more to offer in the functionality stakes. And, as an everyday person, that is what you need the most.

Here are more basic features which make a Fiat a fitting choice.

Compact With Plenty Of Room

The title sounds like a contradiction, but Fiat cars have a way of being small with plenty of space. Take the Fiat 500. On the outside, it is tiny and fits into almost any parking space. But, the interior is well spaced, and there is plenty of junk in the trunk. The 500 even has a high ground clearance. The benefits of this are obvious, from comfort to spending less on fuel thanks to the 1.2lt engine. Drivers think they need plenty of room, yet the reality is different.

Affordable Sports Car

Forget about the price for a moment because every manufacturer has affordable models. What they don’t have, though, are cheap sports cars. In essence, this is what a Fiat 500 is. For instance, the Twin Air Lounge version can reach 60 mph in 10 seconds. A BMW 1 Series does it in just under 9. Then, there is the cost. On average, Fiats come well under $15,000 compared to “luxury” cars with similar specifications. No wonder the Cars and Co new Fiat deals are flying off the e-shelves. When it comes to price, Fiat has some of the best deals on the market.

Safety Rating

A 3-star Whatcar? safety rating is nothing to ignore. Yes, there are safer cars, but you can’t have everything in life. If you want to be as secure as possible, a Volvo is the best choice. However, if you want style and substance, Fiat has lots of motors which fit the bill. And, it is important to point out that the NCAP gave the 500 a five-star rating. By the way, the NCAP is the regulatory body for car safety in Europe. With airbags, knee bags, stability control, it’s as safe as a row of houses.

The Style

The automotive industry goes through phases, and the current one is regurgitation. Quite simply, manufacturers copy the trends which work to sell more units. Fiat doesn’t follow this rule as the 500 model shows. Style wise, it is unique as it evokes memories of the late 1950s and early 60s. Indeed, psychedelic is an excellent word to describe a variety of Fiats. What this means is that you will never be a sheep in the herd. Instead, you’ll stand out from the crowd.

The choice is yours, but Fiats are back with a vengeance and well worth considering.

The Economic Cost Of Brexit

your economy
Loans are a part of almost everyone’s life; we need them to buy houses, buy cars, and start businesses. In the immediate aftermath of the narrow Brexit vote, the pound sterling dropped to a 31 year low, and in March 2017 Deutsche Bank warned that it could still drop by a further 15 percent by the end of this year. Understandably, many were left wondering how this result would continue to affect their mortgages, savings, and the economy in general.

America also had a vested interest in the referendum result, as most big US companies use their trade deals with the UK as a door to trade with the rest of Europe. Even though Prime Minister Theresa May and President Donald Trump have talked about negotiating a new trade deal that benefits both countries, big companies and banks are looking to establish footholds in Europe so they can stay in the EU market. It may be good for their business, but companies like Rolls Royce and JPMorgan warned that the migration of banks and big companies from the UK to Europe would lead to increased unemployment in Britain, pushing the country into a recession and taking America down with them.

Lloyd’s bank, one of the biggest mortgage lenders in the UK, was brought back into full private ownership in May 2017, yet they have also established a foothold in Berlin so they can continue to work in the European market. CEO Antonio Osorio has acknowledged the new set of challenges posed by Brexit for financial services but remains reassured by the robustness of the UK economy.

He said: “Low unemployment, higher house prices and reduced levels of household and corporate indebtedness mean the UK enters this period from a position of strength. But clearly, the shorter the period of uncertainty regarding the UK’s future relationship with the EU, the better. Businesses need certainty about the legal and regulatory environment in which they will be operating, so they can plan accordingly and make investment decisions.”

Although financial markets have since recovered, stocks and global growth prospects could fall again if the markets see too many economic downsides from Brexit. The London banking industry is heavily dependent on Europe, and there are genuine fears that a bad deal would see it sink. In August 2017, the pound sterling fell yet again to an eight-year low against the euro - analysts have said that sterling could fall to parity against the European single currency if the likelihood of a bad Brexit deal increases.

Banks might still be committed to doing the best for their customers, but the average borrower does wonder how their savings and line of credit might change when their bank has a foothold in a different country. Rolls Royce and JPMorgan have warned that moving businesses from the UK to Europe could lead to increased unemployment in Britain, pushing the country into a recession. Either way, the uncertainty itself could stagnate the economy, with people too afraid to sell houses, or start businesses.

Replacement Can Cost An Arm And A Leg But Repair Doesn't

repair & replace money
A good, long-lasting car will be able to give you the freedom you desire, not just for the first couple of years that you use it, but many many years after the initial break in phase. Replacing some parts of a car is incredibly expensive and can punch a large hole in your finances. Such large payments can disrupt your life immeasurably and put any other obligations you might have in peril. You may also have to put family expenses on hold while you recuperate back up to where you were. It's a very simple regimen to understand, but many people fall short of it, and that’s because regular maintenance and scheduled testing requires consistency. There are no miracle cures to detrimental problems once they are allowed to fester and flourish. Cars are machines and anything that is man made, no matter how advanced can and will break down. Financially, you should be looking at your car as an investment, and upkeep it like you would any other kind.

Shattering glass

Cars have adopted a much more sloped approach to their aerodynamics. Even cars in the affordable price ranges, all now have pointed front designs and smart aero lines down the side to direct airflow away from the car. However, the more sleek and flatter the cars get, the more complex it becomes to design and fit windshields to them. Manufacturers have fully embraced the aftermarket businesses that keep drivers on the road and satisfied with their purchases. Even if you have a stone chip on your windshield, due to the faster-flowing air of aerodynamic designs, it puts slightly more pressure on them. Direct sunlight can also make the glass expand, which in turn, spreads the small crack, making it larger and larger. Coupled with the increase in pressure, at any moment the windshield could shatter or collapse inward while you’re driving.

To prevent this dangerous event from occurring, seek the services of a professional automotive glass replacement business that can also do repairs. Not only can the strength be restored to the windshield, the repair is instantaneous, with no need to hide from the rain or the sun. You’re able to drive away immediately, and what’s more is, a replacement of the windshield is known to be a very costly purchase. The tempered glass costs more to make, as well as be fitted properly, which will mean your car is out of action, potentially for a couple of hours to a day. Repairing is the financially smart decision to make, so it’s best not to stave it off before it gets worse.

Seized engine

Many people forget or a too lazy to change the oil regularly of their car. The importance of this thick liquid cannot be underestimated as it is the blood that flows around the moving parts, and allows them to move. It also stops parts from grinding against each other from friction, which can damage the cylinders, block, timing belt, crank and drive shafts, as well as flow down through to the clutch. The danger is very real, as a seized engine cannot be saved. This is because the engine will need to be taken apart vigorously at a garage, and the parts will be too damaged to be put back together. Essentially, the engine is useless at that point. A new engine, especially if you have a car of the newer generation, can cost thousands of dollars and sometimes head into the five-figure range.

It's important to realize that you need a high-quality engine oil, that can flow through the engine in both the extremes of hot and cold. A good oil won’t become too thin during a hot day, and yet it will remain in a liquid form ready for the engine to be started on a freezing cold morning. It's also financially savvy, if you take your engine into a garage, preferably the specialist garage in the brand and model of your car, and go through a port and polish. Aside from the major components, parts of the engine will be taken out, cleaned, smoothed and put back again. Not only will this increase horsepower but also the longevity of the engine.

Replacing an engine or the entire windshield are both very costly things to do, and they take potentially hundreds to thousands of dollars to fix. Repairing any parts you can see are damaged, and doing so, ahead of time before the issue is allowed to spiral out of control, is the financially savvy thing to do. Many drivers push the problem to the back of their mind until suddenly, it comes back to haunt them. Don’t put yourself in a position which gives your short term relief, but long term financial pain.

Small Business Tips for Small Budgets

small budget business
If you’re thinking about a change in career, the only thing that may be holding you back is money. Whether you need it to study to gain new qualifications or you need it to invest in a business idea, if you haven’t got the money, it can seem like you’re at a dead end. However, there may be more options than you think. Starting a small business doesn’t always require a big cash injection. Here are some business ideas you could start working on with little to no start-up cash needed.

Bespoke Products

Unique is in fashion! So, if you have the talent to make something completely unique, it’s almost guaranteed that you could sell it. Perhaps you’d like to sell your artwork or fancy the idea of restoring furniture. For many people, it’s money they’re already spending if they’re doing it as a hobby anyway. It’s free to set up accounts on websites, like Etsy, and you can market your products via social media, which is also free. You can accept payments from customers by using PayPal and you’ll only lose a small percentage of your fee. However, that percentage does keep you and your customers safe.

Sell Something

Perhaps you have a passion for fashion and a keen eye for the latest must-have items. There can be costs involved in setting up a store to sell items, whether it’s a bricks and mortar store or an online store. Obviously, you must think about the cost of buying stock in preparation for your opening, and you’ll always have to consider tax and quality dividends. What are qualified dividends you ask – here is a comprehensive guide. However, if you choose to sell online, you’ll avoid the costs of rent and utilities. Once the initial costs have been paid, you’ll find that you’ll have more money coming in than you have going out.

Use Your Talents

Often times, starting a business with little money is all about being resourceful. What can you offer? Do you have admin experience? Are you good at writing? Perhaps you enjoy spending time on social media and keeping up with the latest updates. There are plenty of jobs you can do where all you need is a laptop and an internet connection. For instance, a virtual personal assistant or a freelance web designer. Choose a business name for yourself, set up a business email account and start offering your services. You can bid for jobs on websites like Upwork.

Use the Talents of Others

You can find many websites that offer freelancers work, but you can also use these websites to get work done. When you’re starting out a small business, there’ll be lots of things you may not be able to do for yourself. For example, creating a business logo or designing a website. You can keep costs down by hiring freelancers who are willing to do free revisions. It’s a great way to get your business branded at a relatively low cost.

A change in career doesn’t have to complicated or expensive, so consider all your options before you give up.
